About
I’ve been building data systems since 2013, back when the job was called “software engineer who touches the database.” Since then I’ve designed real-time streaming pipelines, deployed ML models to production, and built data platforms from zero.
The startup years
In 2020 I joined SO1 as a founding engineer right after the parent company went insolvent (Wirecard). I cut my salary to legal minimum and put the difference into equity. Built the data platform with one other engineer, ran technical presales, and stayed through acquisition by Schwarz Gruppe.
The rebuild
After that I joined Tourlane as their sole data engineer – inherited years of tech debt and rebuilt everything: orchestration, streaming, ML serving, infrastructure. Pipeline development went from three weeks to three days.
How I work
I’m most dangerous as engineer #1 or #2 at a company that needs its data foundation built right the first time. I don’t do proof-of-concepts that never ship. I build things that work, and I build them fast.
Stack: Python, SQL, Rust. AWS, GCP, Spark, Kafka, Flink, dbt, Dagster, Snowflake, Terraform, Ray Serve.
